The U.S. Treasury Department has labeled two individuals as ‘specially designated narcotics traffickers’, acting on behalf of the PKK, while Denmark has blocked all ROJ TV accounts.
The United States Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has labeled three Moldova residents; Zeyneddin Geleri, Çerkez Akbulut (Cernit Murat) as 'Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers (SDNT) for their activities conducted on behalf of the PKK terrorist organization.
Meanwhile on January 10th in Denmark, a Copenhagen Court sentenced ROJ TV to a 700,000 Euro fine for conducting PKK propaganda and for supporting the terrorist organization. Since then, Den danske Bank has frozen all ROJ TV accounts and clarified their reason for doing so by sending a letter to the television station explaining they have selected this route in order to ensure they are not faced with charges of supporting terrorism. ROJ TV will be filing an appeal of the ruling with the court, however the television station's broadcasts have also been suspended by satellite firm Eutelsat for the same reasons.
