The Foreign Ministry announcement invited Israel to fulfill their responsibilities to international law in regards to establishing lasting peace in the Middle East and to put a halt to all endeavors to undermine the peace process.
The written announcement released by the Foreign Affairs Ministry announces that it strongly condemns the addition of another Jewish settlement in occupied Palestinian territory through the building of additional residences in Har Homa in East Jerusalem and opening the development of over 800 units to tenders. The announcement states that Israel's disregard of the global public reaction and its persistence to increase the number of Jewish settlements is an open violation of international law. The announcement also states that Israel's settlement activities undermine the peace process while also seriously endangering the vision of a two-state solution.
The Foreign Ministry also emphasizes that within this framework, the international community must continue to emphasize that they will not accept further settlements and states, "We invite Israel to fulfill their responsibilities to international law in regards to establishing lasting peace in the Middle East and to put a halt to all endeavors to undermine the peace process."
