Turkish military spent TL 9.5 billion on food and fuel

The Turkish Armed Forces spent TL 5 billion on food and TL 4.5 billion ($1.843 billion) on fuel between 2010 and 2014, according to figures released by the Office of the Chief of General Staff. The military spent TL 1.25 billion on equipment and armament, maintenance and repairs.
Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz, in response to a parliamentary questionnaire, Land Forces made the biggest expenditure on food with TL 4.184 billion, with spending on fuel reaching TL 1.765 billion. The Land Forces' expenditure on maintenance reached TL 300.1 million. Expenditure accrued by the Office of the Chief of General Staff was included within the Land Forces.
Naval Forces spent TL 1.3 billion on fuel and TL 500 million on food. Air Forces spent TL 1.481 billion on fuel and TL 395 million on food. Conscripts form the majority of military personnel, which stands at over 600,000.
