Two people were killed on Thursday when a bolt of lightning struck a lemon orchard in Seyhan, a district in the southern city of Adana. Murat Değer, aged 29, and Mustafa Ay, aged 58, were pruning trees at the time of the incident.
The two agricultural laborers had stopped working and were intending to leave the garden once the rain intensified. But they were struck by lightning before they could leave, and died at the scene.
Following a police investigation, the bodies were sent to Adana Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy.
