Onur Özbizerdik, a prominent underworld figure who was released pending trial after shooting a security guard in the leg in December 2014, is wanted again for shooting a young man in the leg in Istanbul's Tarabya district. He was in the lobby of a hotel when he engaged in an argument with a 17-year-old teenager. He drew his pistol and shot the young man in the leg before fleeing the scene. The teenager was hospitalized for slight injuries while the police launched a manhunt to capture Özbizerdik. The suspect had shot a security guard at a nightclub on Dec. 11, 2014, the day he was released from prison. The guard was slightly injured. He turned himself in two months after the incident, and told police he had a quarrel with the guard. The court had released Özbizerdik pending trial.
