Unknown assailant takes 7 bank employees hostage in eastern Turkey

On Tuesday evening, an unknown assailant carrying a shotgun took seven bank employees hostage in Turkey's eastern province of Van.
Three hostages were later released, meanwhile the assailant has reportedly asked for 500,000 Turkish liras ($195,000) and a helicopter.
Van Governor İbrahim Taşyapan said to İhlas News Agency that the assailant has monetary purposes for the hostage situation, also adding that the man's child is sick.
The police is continuing negotiations in order to persuade the assailant to free the hostages.
