Turkish Armed Forces announced on Friday that PKK elements opened fire from the Iraqi side of the border on Turkish units in Turkey's southeastern province of Şırnak.
The attack was carried out by a Dragunov SVD semi-automatic sniper rifle, known as Kanas in Turkey, the statement said.
No casualties or material damage was reported.
Turkish units in Dağlıca area in southeastern most province of Hakkari were also attacked with mortars and machine guns on March 25, again with no casualties reported.
