Eskişehir's Odunpazarı Municipality's answer to one of its Twitter followers who made a homophobic comment has been applauded on social media on Saturday.
In response to the municipality's tweet "Love is being organized" (which is Turkey's LGBT group's slogan), one of its followers said, "A municipality which can hold such disgustingness together with Love, cannot be my municipality."
The municipality answered its follower by sharing the following tweet: "Were you homophobic by birth, or did you become so later on? Get well. We can help you with your treatment".
Doğuştan mı homofobiktiniz, yoksa sonradan mı oldunuz? Geçmiş olsun. Tedavi için yardımcı olabiliriz. @emrahdal
The municipality has also tweeted, "Let us all break down the prejudices".
The municipality has also shown its stance against homophobia by superimposing a rainbow over its logo picture on Twitter, thereby supporting Turkey's 23th LGBTI Pride Week, organized between 22 and 28 of June. The week will end with a pride march on Sunday, which will be organized at 17.00 in Istanbul's Taksim Square.
