187 refugees en route to Europe stopped in western Turkey

Some 187 refugees trying to travel to Europe have been stopped in western Turkish province of Edirne on Monday, according to police sources.
According to Edirne police, 187 refugees preparing to travel to Greece have been caught during police checks. They were later transferred to a removal center in Edirne.
Out of eighteen people suspected of "human trafficking", two were arrested.
Millions of Syrian refugees have fled their country since war broke out more than four years ago. Nearly two million are hosted in Turkey, home to the world's largest Syrian refugee population.
