Turkish military has banned its personnel from travelling to Russia on their vacation days. The personnel were informed of the regulation through a mandate sent to the service commands from the headquarters.
As part of the legal framework, the military personnel need to abide by some rules on their vacation. The officers and military students are expected to act "worthy" of the Turkish military during the whole time, therefore letting the army have a say over their actions on vacations.
Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in November, advising Turkish nationals to postpone all non-urgent travel to Russia, following the escalating row between Moscow and Ankara over a Russian jet downed by Turkey.
