US Embassy in Ankara to limit services over security threat

US Embassy in Turkey's capital Ankara will be limiting services Monday and Tuesday, over security threat, reports have said.
An embassy spokeswoman in Ankara said services would be limited through Tuesday, but did not provide further information regarding the matter.
United States Consulate in Istanbul was reportedly closed on December 9 over intelligence about a Daesh terrorist who was planning to carry out a suicide attack in the compound.
According to reports, Muhammed Raghil Al-Hardani, who is allegedly a member of the terrorist organization came to Turkey on November 28 and was planning to carry out a suicide attack on the U.S. Consulate during a meeting. It was also reported that Hardani had been researching details on security information to carry out a terrorist attack.
The terrorist identified as Al-Hardani was reportedly born in 1991, and his mother also works for the terrorist organization near Iraq's Anbar province.
United States consulate in Istanbul canceled consular services on Dec. 9 due to a possible security threat, officials said in a statement published on the consulate's website on Tuesday.
The statement read: "Due to information about a possible security threat against the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul, the Consulate will open with limited staff and services on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Public services, including visa appointments and non-emergency American Citizen Services appointments, for December 9, 2015, are canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
