In a dilapidated state, the Abudaram or Parmakkapı Synagouge in Istanbul, was returned to the Jewish community after being used for decades as a workshop.
Community members attended a prayer service at the temple yesterday, ahead of planned restoration efforts to restore it to its former glory in the 19th century when it was rebuilt after a fire.
The synagogue was closed before it was converted into a workshop in 1960s.
