The Turkish army has said at least eight Daesh terrorists were killed in a U.S.-led coalition air operation in northern Syria late on Saturday.
The Turkish General Staff said on Sunday that 10 Daesh targets were hit in the Dabiq region, including a building used by the terrorist group which was destroyed in the operation.
Daesh was reportedly preparing to attack Turkey from northern Syria, the statement added.
Turkish warplanes also carried out airstrikes on Saturday against PKK targets in southeastern Hakkari province's Mirgesav and Dağlıca regions, destroying seven targets.
The PKK-listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU-resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, nearly 600 security personnel-including troops, police officers, and village guards and more than 5,000 PKK terrorists have been killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
