Turkish security forces killed two PKK terrorists on Sunday in the country's eastern Erzurum province, the local officials said.
According to a statement issued by the Erzurum governor's office, an operation in a rural area of the province was launched after police learned that PKK members were hiding in the village of Cevirme.
Extensive security operations in the region are ongoing.
The PKK-listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU-resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, more than 600 security personnel and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
