As security operations against PKK terrorists continue, local authorities have imposed curfews in two separate districts. At least six PKK terrorists were also killed in an eastern province.
Security forces launched an operation against PKK terrorists in Yüksekova in the southeastern province of Hakkari after the terrorist organization attacked police officers in the district on Tuesday.
Anti-terror units and soldiers carried out operations at several locations in Güngör, following a three-day curfew imposed on Tuesday.
A police officer was wounded in PKK rocket attacks. Elsewhere, at least six PKK terrorists were killed late Tuesday in the eastern province of Tunceli, the regional governor's office said. The governor's office said in a statement that the counterterrorism operation also seized the terrorists' weapons after a PKK attack on a police station in Nazimiye early Tuesday that killed one soldier and wounded three others.
The air-supported operation resulted in a gun battle between security forces and the terrorist group. An extensive security operation in the region remains ongoing.
Furthermore, two soldiers were killed in a PKK attack on security forces in Lice in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
Terrorists opened fire on security forces providing security on the Diyarbakır-Bingöl highway. In the clash with terrorists, four soldiers were wounded and two are in critical condition in Diyarbakır Military hospital.
With the incident, local authorities imposed curfews in 14 villages in the district.
