Airstrikes against PKK in Northern Iraq continue with no let-up

Asthe Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) fights Daesh in northern Syria, airstrikes against PKK terrorist group targets in Northern Iraq also continue.
According to a statement released by the Turkish military late on Tuesday, an airstrike was conducted in the Hakurk and Gara regions in Northern Iraq against PKK targets. Ten shelters belonging to the terrorist group were destroyed, the statement said.
The fighter jets safely returned to their bases after the airstrike at around 9 p.m.
PKK's Istanbul head captured while preparing bomb attack
The PKK terrorist group's Istanbul head Mazlum Çiftçi was captured yesterday in an operation conducted by the Istanbul Police Department before he carried out attacks on military facilities and police targets in Istanbul.
Çiftçi was captured in a public bus and taken into custody while wanting to shoot at police officers.
The police took action after a notification from a citizen that the PKK was planning to attack military and police targets in Istanbul.
The police reached out to the suspect and followed him. It was found that Çifti was residing in a house in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul.
The suspect was taken to police headquarters for questioning.
PKK terror attack in Mardin claims fifth victim
A village guard injured in Monday's bomb attack on a highway in Turkey's southeastern Mardin province has died in hospital, a local source said on Tuesday.
Nurettin Dinc died at Diyarbakir Dicle Medical University Hospital, according to Temporary Village Guards and Martyrs' Families Federation President Orhan Kandemir.
PKK terrorists had detonated explosives as a military vehicle carrying soldiers and village guards passed along the Kiziltepe - Derik Highway, martyring four soldiers.
Four other soldiers and another village guard were still receiving treatment, Kandemir said. "These treacherous attacks will not discourage us," he added.
Also, a clash between the Turkish military and the PKK took place yesterday morning in the Savur district of Mardin. A soldier was wounded in the clash, while five PKK terrorists were killed in retaliation.
The wounded soldier was quickly taken to the Mardin State Hospital for treatment. An extensive operation continues in the region to capture other terrorists.
