The military Tuesday said it killed 11 PKK terrorists in the country's southeast.
According to a statement from the General Staff, eight PKK terrorists were killed in the Dargecit district of Mardin province, who the statement said were on the verge of planning an attack. In addition, two machine gun positions were also destroyed in the airstrikes.
Another airstrike killed three terrorists in Hakkari province, it added.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU. It resumed its armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
