Israel leaks inaccurate information on Iran, says US

The U.S. on Wednesday accused Israel of leaking inaccurate information about Washington's position on nuclear negotiations with Iran, a White House spokesman said.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued last weekend that Israel is being kept in the dark about details of the talks.White House press secretary Josh Earnest was asked about the prime minister's remarks."That is obviously false," he said, and added that the U.S. continues to share information with Israel in high level meetings. But Earnest stressed that Israel continues "to practice cherry-picking of specific pieces of information and using them out of context to distort the negotiating position of the United States.""There's no question that some of the things that the Israelis have said in characterizing our negotiating position have not been accurate," Earnest said.Meanwhile, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki admitted that the U.S. does not share "everything" with Israel regarding nuclear negations with Iran."It is not new," she said, while adding, "not everything you're hearing from the Israeli government is an accurate reflection of the details of the talks."Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to address the U.S. Congress next month and is expected to press for increased sanctions against Iran.
