Democratic Party presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton leads her peers in campaign donations received in the race to the White House, official figures show.Clinton received a total of $164 million in donations to the date ending Jan. 31, 2016, according to the Federal Election Commission.The biggest contributor to the Clinton campaign is billionaire investor George Soros. His asset management company donated more than $7 million to the Priorities USA Action political action committee, which support Democratic presidential candidates.In addition, entertainment giants Walt Disney and DreamWorks also donated $4 million to Clinton's campaign.Legal firms, known for their close ties to the Democratic Party, are estimated to have donated close to $10 million to Clinton's, according to the Washington-based non-profit, non-partisan research group Center for Responsive Politics.Following Clinton is former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush with $150 million, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, also a Republican was third with $90 million.Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton's rival for the Democratic nomination came in fourth with $75 million as Republicans Dr. Ben Carson and Marco Rubio received $68 million and $62 million, respectively.Other Republicans-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina -- received $27 million and $24 million, respectively.One of the most controversial figures in the race, Republican billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump, received $21 million in donations, despite announcing that he would self-finance his own campaign.Ohio Gov. John Kasich finished at the bottom with just $11 million from Republican donors.
