U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday in an interview with Fox News that his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama is possibly behind the ongoing protests against his administration.

When asked a question about whether Obama could be involved in organizing protests and demonstrations against his presidency across the U.S., Trump said that he thought Obama played a role.

"No, I think he is behind it, I also think it is politics, that is the way it is,'' Trump said.

"You never know what's exactly happening behind the scenes, you never know,'' the American president added.
