Venezuelan soldiers march against 'American imperialism' in Caracas

While accusing opponents of openly leading a coup against him, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has praised the backing of the armed forces, which were ready to defend the country



Venezuela's Ministry of People's Power for Defense shared a video on its Twitter account Monday demonstrating scores of troops marching in Caracas against the U.S.-backed takeover attempt.

"Today, on January 28, the men and women of our valiant Armed Forces demonstrated that their morale was high in the face of continued attacks by American imperialism. Our duty is to protect Venezuela," a statement from the ministry said.
