In a decision made nearly 60 years after Adnan Menderes was executed following the 1960 coup, the building where the Turkish Prime Ministry once operated under him will be converted to a museum and dedicated to the late prime minister, according to Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş,.

Shedding light on the newly founded Ankara Social Sciences University, the deputy prime minister said that areas inside the old building, which is located in Ulus, will be assigned for university use with the building next to the Ankara Governorate also being given to the university to be converted to a museum.

Kurtulmuş recalled "This building is the former home of the Prime Ministry during the ministry of Adnan Menderes. One of the offices inside the building was used by Menderes as well as several governmental bodies since then."

The deputy prime minister also noted that preparations had already begun for the establishment of the museum. In detailed efforts to begin preparations, authorities have contacted Ümran Menderes, the wife of Menderes' late son, Aydın Menderes, requesting that some of the personal belongings of the late prime minister be given for display in the museum.
