Dancers take to the streets

The fifth annual iDANS international dance festival has kicked off with a series of interesting performances.

Running until October 23rd, the festival is bringing famous figures from the world stage to Turkey.
This week's iDANS festival schedule includes a project involving dancing on the city's streets. The dance collective Grupo Oito founded in Berlin in 2006 will have dancers performing in squares and will also invite spectators to participate. Everyone who walks by will be asked to dance.
The project is intended to spur contemplation of the relation between dancers and the market and asks the question, is art purchasable?
Dance for sale/ Satılık Dans begins October 14th at the Kadıköy Pier, October 15th at Sultanahmet Square and October 16 at Bebek Park at 11:00, 15:00 and 18:00.
