"Wall of Hallucination," an exhibition that mirrors the sophisticated and artistic side of Semiha Berksoy, will be hosted by Galerist until Jan. 10, 2015. The exhibition will feature Berksoy's productions including paintings, voice recordings, photographs, personal belongings and documents. The collaboration between Galerist, the host of the exhibition and the national and international representative of the artist, and the Semiha Berksoy Foundation has accelerated the preparations for the Semiha Berksoy Museum's foundation. The museum will not only exhibit the work of the artist, but also it will be a living place that will feature theater and concert halls as well as offer lessons on the performing arts. "Wall of Hallucination" is the first phase that will shed light on the work and life of Berksoy, who is one of the leading figures of Turkish art history. Galerist opened its doors to visitors after the opening night in Passage Petit-Champs on Nov. 12. During the event, which hosted prominent figures from the art and business worlds, guests were given a sneak peak of the exhibition and a dinner was hosted in honor of Berksoy. Melkan Gürsel Tabanlıoğlu and the artist's daughter, Zeliha Berksoy, gave speeches highlighting the importance of the exhibition. "Wall of Hallucination" will showcase a selection of Berksoy's work that reflects the artist's 70 years of success and extraordinary life. The exhibition will bring a new perspective to Berksoy's creations and unconventionally interpret her dynamic art life through paintings, voice recordings, photographs, personal belongings and documents. Regarded as a goddess on earth, the well-known artist's work titled "Annem ve Ben" (My Mother and I), "Anneme Otoportre" (A Self Portrait to My Mother) and "Otoportre" (Self Portrait) will also be on display. The exhibition is open between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday. Visitors can also view Berksoy's work by making appointments on Mondays.
