Ancient theaters of Anatolia compiled in book
"Ancient Theaters of Anatolia," the latest book by Ertuğ and Kocabıyık Publications that introduces high-quality works on both the world and Turkish cultural heritages, shows ancient theaters across the country. Displaying details as well as panoramic views, the book consists of 208 pages, in landscape format with 174 color plates. Striking photographs of perfectly-made statues and friezes are also included in the English book. The text is written by R.R.R Smith, a professor of classical archaeology at Oxford University who led the Aphrodisias excavations near the modern village of Geyre in Aydın, and the amazing photographs were taken by professional architect Ahmet Ertuğ. The images were photographed with an 8 x 10 inch large-format camera and display the exceptional details of the well-preserved ancient theaters that have survived to the present day. Having hosted various civilizations for thousands of years, the rich landscape of Anatolia is home to over 100 ancient theaters.
