The first group poster exhibition of the 3-D Awareness Project, TEKNOFARK, which is supported by the Turkish Green Crescent's Youth Financial Support Program and co-organized by Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ), has opened at YTÜ Yüksel Sabancı Art Center. The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the seemingly unlimited use of technology that has become a social problem. Being the first example of its kind, TEKNOFARK features more than 30 3-D posters on concerning technology, the Internet and social media addiction. Featuring 30 digital posters by 17 Turkish artists, the exhibition displays the winning works of a competition that held by Turkish Green Crescent and YTÜ. TEKNOFARK's opening ceremony was held on June 3, and will combat :addiction in 3-D for the first time in Turkey by using the 3B Project Mapping method in the future. The project aims to inform the public about addiction, especially technology addiction, by producing original content with 3B applications. YTÜ Faculty of Art and Design Professor İlhan Özkeçeci said, "The best way to deliver the right message is through art. We would be happy if we can raise even a little awareness with these posters against technology addiction." The main objective of the project is to create awareness among university students regarding technology addiction by using the most popular and effective communication methods of our time to inform the youth about this social problem. The 3B Projecting Mapping application is an open-air technique that requires a large outdoor space. With this application, buildings are covered with posters or films by using huge projections according to the structural features of the buildings. The project will emphasize social and individual problems caused by technology addiction and plans to encourage young people to pursue a healthy lifestyle. TEKNOFARK is open until June 10.
