Turkish-Iranian culture and arts events in Ankara


The International Turkey-Iran Culture and Arts Days will take place at Çankaya Municipality's Contemporary Arts Center from June 16-30. Organized by Professor Alabey Karoğlu, painter Orhan Doğru and Iranian artist Emir Afşani and with the support of the Embassy of Iran in Ankara, the program will begin with "Group Exhibition of Turkish and Iranian Artists: Painting, Calligraphy and Sculpture." The exhibition hosts leading artists of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Iran and 85 Turkish artists. During the four-day program, various panels and performances will be held. On June 17, Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Ali Riza Bikdeli, the Museum of Contemporary Art Manager Mecid Mollanuruzi, Ali Muradhani, the head of Arts at the Iranian Culture Ministry, Iran's Secretary of Culture Hasan Seferkani and artist Ali Şirazi will give a panel session at the event venue's conference hall with the contributions by the Çankaya Municipality. Hasan Hüseyin Nejad will introduce his calligraphy works, while Efkan Beyaz will participate with his paintings and Azimet Karaman will present his sculptures. Their work will be displayed from June 18. Additionally, Alireza Ağamiri will show examples of Persian paintings and miniature, Belgin Onar Durmaz will display her lithographs and Raziye Kianuş and Durmuş Ali Akça will introduce their paintings on June 19. Visitors will see the examples of experimental typography with Evren Tural on June 20. On the same day, the sculptures of Necmettin Yağcı and Cafer Necibi will also be on show. The exhibition will run until the end of this month.
