The second part of the "Art Producers - Art Teachers" selection, which was first introduced to art lovers in February, is currently on display at İş Sanat's Kibele Gallery. The exhibition is a continuation of the previous display and traces a historical continuity in the education though educators and artists who studied at the art faculties and institutions, taught art lessons at fine arts faculties and gained a place in the Turkish art scene. The second part of the project features a wide range of art branches, mediums and techniques.The exhibition offers a synopsis of the artistic creativity and production of educators and artists who worked as academics in a growing body of fine arts faculties and institutions. The "Art Producers - Art Teachers" exhibition brings creations by artists from universities such as Dokuz Eylül, Hacettepe and Anadolu, which follow a certain artistic tradition as well as faculties and departments that have been building their own academic identity over the last 30 years. From İzmir to Adana, Bolu, Kahramanmaraş, Bursa, Hatay, Eskişehir, Konya, Ankara, Samsun, Mersin and Kayseri, the extensive exhibition compiles Turkish art education and production under the same roof.The art education of the 1970s was a part of higher education and it can be summarized as a way of passing down cultural heritage to new generations and equipping young and talented people with technical and theoretical knowledge to help them vary and develop their artistic creations. Hence, art education developed the artistic and aesthetic parameters of the 1970s while furnishing artists with original styles in order to prove their potential and present their own original creativity.The previous exhibition put the emphasis on popular culture in Anatolia, which became widespread following the introduction of mass communication in the region. The following exhibition elaborated on the thesis. The globalization that took place in the 1980s highlighted mass communication's immense effect on art and creation. While the first exhibition is about abstract expressionism, the new display showcases the effect of pop culture. The "Art Producers - Art Teachers" selection comes to an end with this second exhibition featuring educators and artists who were active between 1970 and 1990.
