Successful contemporary Turkish artist Burçak Bingöl's 2013 ceramic piece, "Hayalkırıklığı II" (Disappointment II), has been included in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in New York.Represented by Turkey's Gallery Ziberman, Bingöl usually focuses on the concepts of culture and identity and is known for her work in various disciplines, including ceramics, sculpture, video and photography. Standing out with her extraordinary work blending various mediums, the artist uses Western and Eastern art together in order to question Western art.Born in 1976, Bingöl lives and works in Istanbul. She received her Ph.D. from Hacettepe University's Department of Ceramics. Her previous pieces have been featured at the 21st Century Museum in Kentucky, the Baksı Museum in Bayburt, Salsali Private Museum in Dubai and various private collections in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Turkey.
