The ancient craft of burning leather, displayed by İbrahim Atalar and the oil painting exhibitions of artists Turhan Ekinci and İclal Dağlı are on display at EXPO 2016 Antalya.Organized around the theme "flowers and children," EXPO 2016 will host various art exhibitions, offering a wealth of information about botanical marvels. The craft of cauterizing leather, a 4,000-year-old tradition in Turkish craftsmanship, will be on display and curated by İbrahim Atalar, the master of leather processing."The first leather cauterization was performed by Turks in the Middle East. It's a completely unique Turkish art form. Cauterizing is done with lime, raw sulfur, pigeon feces and acorns which are all ground up. "No chemicals are used besides these. Therefore, the leather is cauterized in methods which dates back 500 years and is completely natural," said Atalar. The exhibition will be open until Sept. 3.'Hand-to-hand art'Another exhibition at EXPO 2016 Antalya is the art installation of Ekinci and his apprentice, Dağlı. The exhibition, called "Hand-to-hand art," displays 30 oil paintings by the duo in the Art and Exhibition Hall. The exhibition that features paintings on various subjects will close today.Apprentice Dağlı mentioned that she is extremely happy to be featured in an exhibition with Ekinci, who served as her mentor when she began painting. Dağlı said: "Art is a global language that shares creativity, beauty and collaboration. That's why we wanted to offer something to art lovers and children alike, together with my master Turhan Ekinci."
