The international painting and photo exhibition offers Niğde's Yeşilburç vallage's citizens a rare opportunity to experience fine art and photography first hand

The Central Anatolian village of Niğde's Yeşilburç area will host the "Extraordinary Event by A Group of International Artists" exhibition organized by Art Niğde International and Narrative Movements India and curated by painter Safa Büte. The exhibition features artworks by 42 artists from 17 countries and the artworks will be displayed on the streets of Yeşilburç. Paintings will hang on trees and the walls of houses and other buildings and presented to the locals as well as art lovers from the surrounding villages and provinces.Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), painter Safa Büte stressed that although people living in big cities are able to observe and visit art exhibitions anytime they want, it is hard for people to do so living in rural parts of Turkey. "A couple of years ago, an event took place in India that amused me. They hung paintings on the walls of adobe houses. It was a very beautiful event," said Büte talking about his inspirations. Büte is the representative of Narrative Movements – India in Turkey. He talked to the authorities in the art center and told them his desire to organize a similar event in Turkey. "We founded a sister art center, Art Niğde International, and we have organized this event along with the center based in India. We achieved our goal and this was the first trial. The organization features the works by 42 artists around the globe. The artists featured at the exhibition are contemporary artists. We have artworks from around the world from Korea to Moldova, Greece and Russia. We have also works by 10 Turkish artists in the exhibition," added painter and curator Büte.Seventy-year-old İrfaniye Bozkır, one of the locals in Yeşilburç, said it is the first time that she has been at an exhibition. "I am very content. We cleaned up everywhere for the exhibition. I was very excited. I cannot find any words to say other than I am happy. I wish events as such take place here all the time," Bozkır said.Additionally, 52-year-old Hanife Oral said she is very happy to host an exhibition in her village and explained that the locals want these kinds of events to take place all the time. "No one comes here during winter, not even ants pass through this village. We are all alone here," she concluded.
