Istanbul Modern offers free art tour on special day


Offering free entry for women, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, better known as Istanbul Modern, presents a day filled with creativity on International Women's Day with several workshops, guided tours and film screenings.The participants of the workshops will be asked to make a mural based on their personal experiences and they will be encouraged to search ways to visualize their thoughts while discovering the liberating elements of artistic expression.The special guided tour geared for women is composed of exhibitions from 10 contemporary female artists. The 45-minute tour includes Aliye Berger's engravings, Semiha Berksoy's "Feast in Prison," Nilbahar Güreş's "Undressing," Hale Tenger's "Strange Fruit," Handan Börütecene's "Bring Yourself To Me," Selma Gürbüz's "Obscure Costume" and "Self-portrait," İnci Eviner's "Ner Citizen I-II-III," Nil Yalter's "Headless Woman or Belly Dancing," Fahrelnissa Zeid's "Abstract Composition" and Nur Koçak's "Story of Cahide," which are featured in the "Artists in Their Time" exhibition.In addition to all of this, the 2017 Academy Award nominee film "Hidden Figures," which focuses on a team of African-American female mathematicians who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in NASA history, will be screened.
