Antalya Culture and Arts to hold art training programs for spring term


The Antalya Culture and Arts Center is continuing its artistic training programs for adults in spring term. Organized with the cooperation of Akdeniz University, the program "Sanatı Öğreniyorum" (I am learning art) will be led by art historian and art critic Ebru Nalan Sülün. The program will start in April and aims to provide basic training on art to enable participants to comprehend main art concepts, art movements and artworks.Training will be held in three different categories: "Contemporary Art for Everyone," "European Art for Everyone" and "Modern Art in Turkey for Everyone." Training will be provided two hours a week for 10 weeks on both weekdays and weekends in order to offer flexibility for participants, who will be given certificates at the end of the program.European Art for EveryoneSet to take place every Saturday beginning from April 1, the program offers basic training on componential analysis and analysis of artworks by focusing on the comparison of periods such as the Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque and Rococo in European Art with artworks and the story of the artists.Contemporary Art for EveryoneOrganized to take place on Saturdays beginning from April 1, the program aims to analyze the artworks of prominent artists, who shaped main art movements, and to enrich the relationship between artworks and their audiences. It examines art movements that originated in the 19th century and still exist, and aesthetic experiences of artists through sociocultural developments and interactions of the period.Modern Art in Turkey for EveryoneEvery Thursday beginning from March 30, the program will examine the development of art in the 20th century, which gained momentum with the westernization movements in Turkey at the end of the 19th century. It scrutinizes art in Turkey in the sociocultural context in the westernization period in the Ottoman Empire, the early Republican Period (1923-1950) and the following periods. It also looks closer to the development of contemporary art in Turkey after 1950, including artists, artworks and art institutions.
