As part of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Korean-Turkish diplomatic relations, a mixed exhibition with the theme "Bojagi-Bohça" has been launched with the participation of 61 artists from both countries. Both words mean wrapping cloth - "bojagi" in Korean and "bohça" in Turkish - reflecting the common culture of Turkey and Korea. The exhibition, which has works by 31 Korean artists and 30 Turkish artists, is open to visit in the Osman Hamdi Bey Exhibition Hall at Çankaya Municipality Contemporary Arts Center until May 2.Held with the cooperation of the Embassy of The Republic of Korea in Ankara and Çankaya Municipality, the exhibition has been welcomed by visitors. In the opening ceremony of the exhibition, a Korean lady delivered her bohça painting art performance accompanied by music. Culture Counselor of the Embassy of The Republic of Korea Dong Woo Cho gave a speech in Turkish at the opening of the art and culture exhibition and thanked the artists who were part of the exhibition."I am very happy to have this exhibition which reflects a common component of both cultures as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Turkey. Korea and Turkey have a close relationship in terms of both history and culture. People of these countries feel close to each other. However, despite this close relation, we still do not know each other's culture enough. 'Bojagi' in Korean culture and 'Bohça' in Turkish culture are similar to each other both in terms of pronunciation and use. I am sure that artists who have contributed to this exhibition with bojagi and bohça noticed how close these two cultures are to each other," he said.
