Italian artist in Istanbul with 'Seed Syllables'


Parallel to the ongoing 15th Istanbul Biennial, Sevil Dolmacı Art Consultancy is hosting Italian artist Loris Cecchini's exhibition titled 'Seed Syllables' at its gallery in Narmalı Apartment until Nov. 2 Having carried out important works in international art institutions especially in the Europe and in the U.S. since the day it was established, Sevil Dolmacı Art Consultancy will house the Italian artist's first exhibition in Turkey.

Represented by Galleria Continua in the Europe and by Leila Heller Gallery in New York, Loris Cecchini is distinguished with his projects and museum exhibitions that he holds in the world. The works including installations, sculptures, photographs and patterns created by the artist, who mostly uses different media, are exhibited in many institutional collections like Elgiz Museum in Istanbul and various others such as Hong Kong, Pekin, Paris, Rome, Cologne, Brussels, New York and Washington. Especially known for his large-scale installations, Cecchini exhibited his work titled "Cloudless" in 2006 at MoMA PS1 in the U.S.

In 2017, Cecchini met audiences with his installation covering the ground in Fondaco dei Tedeschi with curator Herve Mikaeloff as a parallel event to the Venice Biennial.

"Seed Syllables" is Cecchini's first solo exhibition organized in Istanbul. This special exhibition can be seen until Nov. 2.
