Syrian, Turkish artists co-produce at 2-week workshop

The second series of open studio workshops, "Together," based on the co-productions of Syrian and Turkish artists, started yesterday at Uniq Gallery. All art lovers are invited to the workshop, which will be a partner event to the 15th Istanbul Biennial.

Five Syrian and five Turkish artists will take part in the workshop, which is held with the support of the Human Resource Development Foundation. It is expected that the artists will produce their works cooperatively, showing the interaction of the two cultures for two weeks, at Uniq Gallery.

The project, which aims at not only artistic communication and sharing among artists but also opportunities for future cooperation, is an attempt to provide sustainability with cultural and social themes as well as with individual associations. The Syrian artists, who got the chance to contact with Istanbul's art scene after the first workshop in 2016, have been invited to group exhibitions throughout the year within this context, and they had the chance to gain representation.

The productions of the open studio workshop will be on display at UNIQ Istanbul Turkmall Art in October and December.

"Together" invites audiences to witness the production phases through the workshop.
