The Discovery Space training program titled, "Architects at the Museum," held in cooperation with Istanbul Modern and Centre Pompidou, is an ongoing workshop inspired by world-famous architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers and their unique approach to museum architecture. The new workshop began on Oct. 12.

Discovery Space invites children and families to a new structural design play titled, "Architects at Museums," being held in cooperation with Istanbul Modern and Centre Pompidou in Paris with the support of Turkey's Garanti Bank, the training sponsor.

The program, which is organized for children ages 5-to-12 and their families, is inspired by the approaches of Rogers and Piano regarding the museum architecture of Centre Pompidou. Children come together in a play area where they get to create new architectural constructions together and produce new forms through plugging and removing.

Beginning with a conversation in which children brainstorm answers to such questions as: "What is architecture?" "How can a construction be built up?" "What type of constructions are there around us?" and "How should a museum's architecture be?" The program continues with the examination of various designs created by museum architects Piano and Rogers. During the practice stage, children are introduced to the pieces of this special training and explore how to use them. After generating their architectural ideas, they bring tubes together to materialize these ideas.

"Architects at the Museum" awaits children and their families until Jan. 14, 2018 and is open on the weekends.
