World of Harry Potter at magical events


"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," the first film of the Harry Potter series, will be shown at the Main Theater of Zorlu Performing Arts Center (PSM) with a live orchestra as part of the series Movies in Concert on Nov. 3-4. The program includes "Being Harry Potter: Creative Writing and Book Design Workshop," "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Creative Reading Workshop" and an interesting conversation "Relatives of Harry Potter in Literature and Mythology," along with event in which the awarded soundtracks of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" by John Williams will be performed by the Orchestra Istanbul.

Being Harry Potter: Creative Writing and Book Design Workshop

Harry Potter books, which continue to break sales records in Turkey and abroad, are beloved by children and adults for their secrets and magic. In this workshop, children between the ages of 8 and 13 will have the opportunity to discover their own Harry Potter in their minds on paper in the company of children's book writers Özlem Özyurt and Nermin Ferhan Karamuti. Organized with the inspiration taken from "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," this special workshop will let children discover their own inner Harry Potter on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The ticket price is TL 80 ($21) and it is half price for those watching "Harry Potter and Philosopher's Stone" in concert.

'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' Creative Reading Workshop

In the reading workshop, which is based on "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," the first book in the series, children will be able to reflect on Hogwarts in their minds, starting from the meanings that they have attributed to the philosopher's stone with the techniques of play, creative thinking and animation. The workshop, which will be held for children between the ages of 10 and 13 under the guidance of trainer Çiğdem Odabaşı on Nov. 4, will give children the opportunity to experience the Harry Potter world from a different perspective.

Relatives of Harry Potter in Literature and Mythology

Translators of the Harry Potter series, Sevin Okyay and Kutlukhan Kutlu, along with the series' predecesors and counterparts in literature will hold a conversation on Harry Potter's roots in mythology and the inspirational sources that have shaped the language of the books. This event is open to all Harry Potter fans free of charge on Nov. 4.
