Design Week Turkey, which has brought Turkey together along the axis of design in the last two years - including industrial design, fashion, architecture and visual communication design - will be organized for the third time at Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul between Nov. 16 and 18 this year. The week, which will be held by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) with the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce, will reveal the significance of design in products and services. Hosting world famous figures in the previous years, the event will bring together design trends that direct the world. At Design Week Turkey, the theme of which is "Design Ecosystem" this year, topics that create the design ecosystem, such as Turkish design, design-economy relations, design and production in small and large industries, entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, industrial design, luxury design, visual communication design and fashion design, will be discussed in detail.

TİM President İsmail Gülle, said that the future of different sectors will be shaped with the steps that are taken in the design and research and development (R&D) areas, "We conduct our work in order to spread design. We believe the important thing is not producing much but producing the right design. We are planning to increase the added-value of exportation with design. We will spread design to the base, supporting it with research and development and advertisement. We will continue to sustain our support to our designers and industry thanks to Design Week Turkey. We, as the export family, work with a conscious that products enriched with design have a unique place in the growth of Turkey's exports."

Saying that design is accepted as a luxury concept in Turkey, Design Week Turkey Consultative Committee President Gökhan Karakuş said, "We will present important exemplary works of successful investments that are made by interdisciplinary teams with the aim of making design inspire and guide the young generation at Design Week Turkey."

Design Turkey Industrial Awards

Organized within the scope of the Turquality Program, the Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards will be awarded for the seventh time. The awards, arranged to reward the best design that looks out for the needs of users in Turkey and brings value-added and competitive advantage to the local market and exports, aims to reveal the benefits of well-designed products to society and industry.

tion President Sertaç Ersayın said, "At the Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards, designs that are produced from 13 different sectors in the last three years will be evaluated by 30 international jury members. Besides, there will be a Conceptual Design Awards category, where young and new designers will attend and fresh ideas that are not produced yet will be evaluated.

First opportunity for young designers

As part of Design Week Turkey, workshops and competitions, that design students can also attend, will be held for the first time. While entrepreneurs and young designers will have the opportunity to express themselves, specially designed exhibitions will meet design lovers. Figures who have had both national and international success will share their exemplary works that will give inspiration to young designers and guide them; designers, entrepreneurs, academics, students and industrialists will come together throughout the week.
