HBO has announced the actors who will portray Tom Riddle, Dobby and Ginny Weasley in the second season of its new "Harry Potter” series.

In a post on its social media account, HBO announced that British actor Billy Barratt will portray Tom Riddle, the younger version of Lord Voldemort. Lenny Rush will appear as Dobby, the house-elf, while Bonnie Hill will portray Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley’s sister. Hill has joined the cast for the role, replacing Gracie Cochrane, who was initially cast for the first season.

At the age of 13, Barratt became the youngest person to win an International Emmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor for his role in the film "Responsible Child.”

Rush is known for his performance in the series "Am I Being Unreasonable?” The British actor won the BAFTA Television Award for Male Comedy Performance for the role.

It was previously announced that Nicholas Hoult was set to portray Gilderoy Lockhart in the second season. However, it was later announced that the role had been given to Kit Harington due to Hoult’s busy schedule.

About HBO’s 'Harry Potter'

Based on J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series, HBO’s production will bring the "Harry Potter” story back to the screen with a new cast. The first season is based on the first book, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

The eight-episode first season is scheduled to premiere on HBO on Dec. 25 and on HBO Max in regions where the streaming service is available.

Dominic McLaughlin will play the new "Harry Potter,” Arabella Stanton will portray "Hermione Granger,” and Alastair Stout will play "Ron Weasley.”
