HBO has announced the actors who will play Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle and Colin Creevey in the second season of its new "Harry Potter” series.

In a post on social media, HBO said Rafe Spall will play Arthur Weasley, Molly Hewitt-Richards will portray Moaning Myrtle and Jasper Ambrose will play Colin Creevey.

Arthur Weasley is a wizard who works at the Ministry of Magic and is the father of Ron Weasley, one of the story’s main characters. Moaning Myrtle is a ghost who resides in the girls’ bathroom at Hogwarts, while Colin Creevey is a Gryffindor student known for his admiration of Harry Potter and for constantly following him with his camera.

Spall is the son of Emmy Award-winning actor Timothy Spall, who played the villainous Peter Pettigrew in the "Harry Potter” films.

The "Harry Potter” series will mark a major production for young actors Hewitt-Richards and Ambrose, becoming one of the most notable projects of their careers.

HBO had previously announced several other cast members for the second season, including Billy Barratt as young Tom Riddle, Lenny Rush as Dobby and Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley. Nicholas Hoult was initially announced to play Gilderoy Lockhart, but Kit Harington was later cast in the role due to Hoult’s busy schedule.

Based on J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series, HBO’s "Harry Potter” will bring the story back to the screen with a new cast. The first season is based on the first book, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

The eight-episode first season is scheduled to premiere on HBO on Dec. 25 and on HBO Max in regions where the streaming service is available.

Dominic McLaughlin will play the new Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton will portray Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley.
