At least five militants attacked a police training college near Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta late Monday, the military said, adding that troops had arrived at the site and had begun an operation.

"5-6 terrorists attacked police training centre hostel. Army and FC troops arrived on the site. Operation underway," the statement said.200 military students are said to be held hostage by the militants.
