India arrests pedophile Briton for sexually assaulting blind children


A 54-year-old British man was on Monday arrested for on charges of sexually abusing visually challenged children in New Delhi, police said.

The man faces charges under sections of India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, senior police officer Chinmay Biswal said.

"He was arrested from his home in south Delhi after complaints of abuse from three minors at Delhi's National Association for the Blind (NAB)," another local police officer said.

Police said it had found 'objectionable material' on his laptop, and a preliminary probe had shown he could be a pedophile.

The man, who was working with a private firm in Delhi's suburbs of Gurgaon until recently, was associated with the NAB for the past nine years as a donor.
