North Korea launches unidentified projectile towards Sea of Japan

North Korea has fired short-range projectiles toward the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

South Korea's JCS said that North Korea fired an unidentified projectile on Wednesday morning from around Wonsan, Kangwon province toward the sea to the east, Yonhap reported.

A JCS spokesman could not be immediately reached.
