Istanbul Autoshow 2015 welcomes 600,000 visitors with 60 new car models

Istanbul Autoshow 2015 will continue until the end of the month, and showcase 60 new car models being exhibited for the first time. The fair is expected to attract 600,000 visitors in total with the theme ‘the new wonders of the world'



Istanbul Autoshow 2015, one of the largest automobile fairs in Europe, is being held at TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center until May 31. The fair introduces more than 60 new car models to car enthusiasts for the first time in Turkey. The world premieres of Fiat Aegea and the new model Volkswagen Caravelle were held at Istanbul Autoshow 2015, which welcomes its visitors with the theme of the "new wonders of the world." The theme is based on the fact that automobile brands do not regard fairs just as places for showcasing new models, but also as platforms for introducing future technologies to consumers.Volkswagen Volkswagen CaravelleOf interest were which new models Volkswagen would exhibit, as the sales champion of the Turkish automotive market in 2014. Volkswagen fulfilled high expectations by holding the world premiere of the new Caravelle. Another remarkable innovation at Volkswagen's booth was the face-lifted version of the Caddy, which has achieved good sales in the Turkish automotive market. The new model Caddy is called the Caddy 4, emphasizing it's a fourth generation Caddy. The Caddy 4's headlights and rear lights were modified to better resemble other members of the brand. The electric versions of the Volkswagen Golf and Passat, showcased for the first time at Istanbul Autoshow 2015, attracted great attention.FiatMuch curiosity was aroused about which model would replace the Fiat Linea, which has been the best-selling car in Turkey for many years. World premiering its champion sales model in Turkey, Fiat was determined to continue its best-selling status. The new model, which is named after the Aegean Sea, will hit the roads in November with its B and C segments, with assertive prices and new properties. The Fiat Aegea was developed as a result of three years of work conducted by more than 2,000 engineers at the Tofaş research and development center. The Aegea will only be produced in Turkey and will be exported to 40 countries. The model received favorable opinions from visitors in terms of its design; however, it did not bring novelty to its engine and continues with the Fiat Linea engine.ToyotaToyota MiraiToyota, a pioneer in the world automotive industry by introducing hybrid cars, maintains its resolve in the hybrid car market with its Yaris Hybrid and Prius models. The company aims to launch alternative hybrids in all of its models until 2020. It seeks to launch many hybrid models to the market, if Turkey's tax system is regulated in line with exhaust emission. The Toyota Mirai was one of the most outstanding cars at the fair thanks to its technology. Mirai, which means "future" in Japanese, produces its own electricity with hydrogen fuel, and the only byproducts are drops of water from the exhaust pipe. While face-lifted versions of the Toyota Auris and Toyota Avensis leap to the eye, the greatest novelty in these models is their renewed diesel engines. LexusOne of the most significant innovations at Istanbul Autoshow 2015 was the launching of the Lexus into the Turkish market. For many years, there has been much speculation about when Lexus would enter Turkey. Lexus will be introduced to Turkish consumers in the first quarter of 2015. With the LS600hl model taking the lead as the flagship of the brand, other assertive models such as GS, IS, NX and RC are being showcased at the Lexus booth.FordFord MustangAs one of the brands that exhibit the greatest number of new models, Ford is in the spotlight with its Mustang. The model, which has not been in the Turkish market for many years, will enter the marketplace in the last quarter of this year. The C-Max and Grand C-Max have appeared as Ford's renewed minivan models.Ford Grand C-MaxWith two models that show up for the first time in the Turkish market, the Ford Ecosport stands out in the mini SUV category and the Ford Edge stands out in the large SUV category with its American-style design.Honda Honda JazzHonda has pleased its enthusiasts by exhibiting long-awaited models. The Honda Jazz, one of the successful models in the third generation small group, has been introduced for the first time and seeks to achieve good sales figures by combining its 1.3-liter economical gasoline engine with its handy bodywork. The Honda CR-V, which has achieved good sales figures and won recognition for many years, draws great attention from SUV model seekers with its new 1.6-liter 160 hp diesel engine and automatic transmission. The Civic Type-R and NSX are the most outstanding models at Honda's booth where the Honda HR-V is also showcased. The new Civic Type-R sport automobile, which looks like a racecar with its 310 hp turbo engine and aggressive design, has received full marks from sport automobile enthusiasts. The NSX, the legend of the 1990s, debuted its electric engine prototype.The fair is expected to attract 600,000 visitors in total. As the fair attracted mainly men in previous years, women and children are allowed to enter with complimentary tickets on weekdays and discount tickets on weekends. The fair is open between 12:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 pm on weekends.
