Turkey’s automotive sales grow 43 percent in June


Turkey's automobile and light commercial vehicle sales grew by 43.21 percent in June, the Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) reported on Friday. With 86,158 automotive sales in June, sales increased by 43.21 percent when compared to the same month of 2014. Sales in the first half of the year reached 432,550 – an increase of 50.79 percent.In the January-June period, 327,846 cars were sold, an increase of 45.21 percent compared with the same period in 2014. Models in low-tax segments, classified as A, B and C, were mostly preferred by Turkish consumers, as they made up 84.06 percent of total sales. The C segment stood at the top of the list, however, with a 52.16 percent share.Light commercial vehicle sales increased by 71 percent in the same period with 104,704 vehicles sold. ODD forecasts up to 900,000-950,000 vehicles will be sold by the end of year.
