Saint Petersburg Industrial Policies Committee Chairman Maxim Meiksin said that as spare parts imported from Turkey are being held at Russian customs, the production may be halted.According to an article published by Russian news agency TASS, Meiksin said that spare parts produced in Turkey constitute an important share in Russia's automotive production.Stating that the current stocks left would be enough only for a couple of days, Meiksin said that the delays in customs may halt the production.After a recent research on Russia's possible foreign market alternatives for automotive spare parts, Russian Kommersant business daily reported that the country is not in a position to find another partner within at least two months.Around 24 percent of automotive production is being carried out in Saint Petersburg where companies like Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Scania and MAN produce around 400,000 vehicles annually.
