Cleveland Cavaliers select Osman 31st overall in NBA Draft 2015

The Minnesota Timberwolves, on behalf of the Cleveland Cavaliers, took small forward Cedi Osman with the first pick in the second round. Cleveland acquired picks No. 31 and No. 36 when they traded their first round pick in Tyus Jones to Minnesota.

Osman, 6-8, plays in Turkey for Anadolu Efes. He will be a draft-and-stash guy for the organization. At 20 years of age, he posted numbers of 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds during Turkish Basketball League play last year. He's a formidable playmaker with the ball and has a decent shooting stroke from outside. General Manager David Griffin said his demeanor reminds him of Goran Dragic and he added that he will remain in Europe for a couple more seasons, they believe he's only going to get better. The Cavaliers obtained forward Rakeem Christmas of Syracuse No. 36. They then selected St. John's forward Sir'Dominic Pointer with the 53rd overall pick.
