Turkish national men's basketball team, also dubbed the "12 Giant Men," lost to Balkan heavyweights Serbia 80-74 late Monday.

The win has been very advantageous for the Serbs to advance to the group stage.

The Crescent-Stars played against Russia and Great Britain in previous Group D matches.

The team will host Belgium Tuesday in the FIBA EuroBasket 2017.

A win would be the best possible morale-booster for the Turkish national team ahead of the final day of the group phase.
