TUYAP Book Fair’s theme ‘100 years of Turkish Cinema’


Organized by TÜYAP and the Turkish Publishers Association, the 33rdInternational Istanbul Book Fair will take place from Nov. 8-16 at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center in Büyükçekmece. The organization will feature 750 publishing houses and nongovernmental organizations along with 300 events and hundreds of autograph sessions. The event will also welcome 30 guest authors from abroad. Book lovers can access the event schedule on www.istanbulkitapfuari.com or through the event's social media accounts. Film critic Atilla Dorsay will be the honored author of this year's fair, while the theme of the fair is "100 years of Turkish Cinema." From Nov. 8-11, International Hall will host Hungary, the guest country of the book fair, and nearly 100 Hungarian publishing houses. Within the scope of the "100 years of Turkish Cinema" theme, chat sessions and panel discussions featuring prominent figures of literature and cinema will be held. Reading hours and chat sessions will take place under the title of "Children's Literature," while contemporary and classic examples of Hungarian literature will be discussed with the theme "From One Garden to Another." The 33rd edition of the International Istanbul Book Fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on week days and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The fair will end on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
